Expanding the concept of 'Fresh Outta 'P' University' Bootsy Collins released the CD 'Play With Bootsy' in 2002. Despite featuring an all-star cast of guest artists like Snoop Dogg, Lady Miss Kier, Bobby Womack, Fat Boy Slim and Sly&Robbie the record was a creative and commercial disappointment.

The same year Bootsy did a remake of Parliaments 'P. Funk (Want's To Get Funked Up)' with Snoop Dogg for the movie 'Undercover Cop' and appeared in the Motown documentary movie and concert 'Standing In The Shadows Of Motown'. He played at the 2004 ESPY awards and was joined on stage by Snoop and actor Samuel L. Jackson. Busy as ever, he appeared as guest artist on records by Fatboy Slim, Toots And the Maytals and Victor Wooten over the past years. He joined George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic on stage at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards in 2004. The following year he acted as Master Of Ceremony for the Heineken's Amsterjam concert in New York, featuring the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Snopp Dogg as headliners. Additionally, he recorded a track with his hometown NFL team, the Cincinatti Bengals and appeared in a TV ad for the Motorola ROKR mobile phone. His latest CD 'Christmas Is 4 Ever' featuring Bobby Byrd, Roger Troutman, Snoop Dogg and Buckethead, among others, is released October 31, 2006 on the label Shout! Factory.
