A second album by the JB Horns entitled 'I Like It Like That' was released on Gramavision in 1992. Along with Fred Wesley, Pee Wee plays on Maceo Parker's 'Life on Planet Groove', recorded life in Cologne in 1992, also featuring Candy Dulfer on alto saxophone and Kim Mazelle on vocals.

Teaming up with fellow New York Blues and Jazz musicians, Pee Wee Ellis recorded the 'Blues Mission' album in 1992 featuring the original funky drummer Clyde Stubblefield. A Jazz trio album 'Twelve and More Blues' folllowed soon after, being the first of a string of albums released on the Minor Muisc label during the next years. Working with a variety of young European musicians, Pee Wee also toured under the name Pee Wee Ellis Assembly. Together with the German NDR Big Band the Pee Wee Ellis Assembly recorded the album 'What You Like' in 1997, also released on Minor Music.
