Pee Wee Ellis regrouped with his old bandmates Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley in 1988 to tour with Bobby Byrd. The concert in July 1988 in London was recorded live and released on the German label Rhythm Attack Productions.

Soon after they would form the JB Horns, recording for the Gramavision label. Their first album 'Pee Wee, Fred and Maceo' was released in 1989.
