James Brown 'Funk Power' was released 1996 in the Polydor Chronicles Series. It features the essential Funk tracks recorded with Bootsy and Phelps Collins from April 1970 to January 1971. Other musicians include Bobby Byrd on organ and vocals, St. Clair Pinckney on Saxophone and both funky drummers John "Jabo" Starks and Clyde Stubblefield. The release features many funky pictures and an Essay by Alan Leeds. |
